"You'll probably end up in heaven,
And I'll be burning in hell!"
Cincinnati experimental rockers Foxy Shazam! are our first official artist of the week! Relentless tourers, this band has amassed a respectable following since their initial release "The Flamingo Trigger" in the early summer of 2005. Fronted by the eccentric Eric Sean Nally, the band has gained recognition for their energetic and interesting live performances. Don't believe me? Nally lights cigarettes which shoves into his mouth while singing and closes out almost every set by hanging by his feet from the rafters sometimes 25 feet above the stage.
The band truly found their form with their most recent release, "Introducing Foxy Shazam," released in early 2008. This album came complete with fan favorites like "Cool" and "Red Cape Diver," but also had songs that took the band in new directions. The title track intro's with a mysterious (and still unidentified) narration quite literally introducing the band. Recently the band added another member for the sole purpose of horns. To say that Foxy (as their fans have come to call them) is filled with hard rockers would be an understatement. Foxy Shazam! is one of the only bands that I know of that could mix together horns with Nally's unique voice and make it still truly kick ass.
Screams. Crazy Beards. Awesome Piano. What more could you want?
The band looks to release their third album tentatively titled "Unstoppable" sometime in early 2010.
